Wydajność i testy porównawcze dysków SSD SATA

Tutaj można znaleźć szczegółowe testy prędkości dysków SSD SATA 6 Gb/s. Maksymalna prędkość, ograniczona przez interfejs SATA III, wynosi tylko 600 MB/s* (teoretycznie). W praktyce możliwe jest osiągnięcie prędkości odczytu i zapisu do ok. 550 MB/s. Dyski SSD SATA są wolniejsze w porównaniu do dysków SSD PCIe NVMe, co czyni je tańszymi. Dlatego są one zwykle używane jako kopia zapasowa lub nośnik danych, gdy prędkość nie jest tak ważna.

*) Następca SATA Express (SATAe) o przepustowości 8 i 16 Gbit/s był również dostępny od 2013 roku, ale nie odniósł sukcesu ze względu na szybszy interfejs M.2.

Kiedy dysk SSD SATA ma sens?

W rzeczywistości istnieją tylko dwa zastosowania, w których dysk SATA nadal ma sens: 1. w starszych laptopach, które nie mają gniazda M.2 i 2. jako szybkie rozszerzenie pamięci masowej w komputerze stacjonarnym.
Jeśli chodzi o 1): często starsze laptopy nadal mają zainstalowany mechaniczny 2,5-calowy dysk twardy, który jest podłączony do portu SATA. Można osiągnąć znaczący i zauważalny wzrost prędkości, usuwając mechaniczny dysk twardy i instalując zamiast niego dysk SSD SATA.

SATA i X570 = słaba wydajność

Po przetestowaniu kilku dysków SATA, z których żaden nie osiągnął prędkości zapisu powyżej 460 MB/s (choć producenci podawali 530 MB/s), nabrałem podejrzeń, czy może to być wina mojego systemu testowego. Podłączyłem dyski do różnych portów SATA na mojej płycie głównej i wykonałem kilka testów różnymi programami (AS SSD, ATTO, CDM). Uzyskane wartości za każdym razem były słabe (szczególnie w teście 4K).

Następnie poszperałem trochę w Internecie i natknąłem się na artykuł użytkownika Reddit, który również wykazał ten problem i był w stanie prześledzić go wstecz do chipsetu AMD X570. Ten sam dysk SATA zapewnia znacznie lepsze prędkości transferu na płycie głównej B550.

Ponieważ jednak mój system testowy (patrz strona główna poniżej) wykorzystuje płytę główną X570 (tylko ona obsługuje obecnie dyski SSD M.2 4. generacji), nie ma sensu testować tutaj większej liczby dysków SSD SATA, ponieważ to nie dysk SSD jest wąskim gardłem, ale chipset AMD.
